It’s taken a whole year for me to finally get around to properly decorating our master bedroom. Last year was a bit of a crazy one, with the move to this house, selling our old home and also planning and hosting our wedding. But I’m excited to share that our bedroom is now looking how I had envisioned it!
Justine and I have always wanted a light and peaceful bedroom space that’s casual and inviting. To achieve this, I went for a rustic minimalist aesthetic, keeping to neutral tones, lots of white and bringing in natural materials for a more raw feel.
I opted for a grey wingback bed frame with a linen texture to ground the space, with a tan feature wall behind it. The colour is called “Alexandria Beige” by Benjamin Moore. The rest of the room is in my favorite “Chantilly Lace” white, also by Benjamin Moore. It’s the best, true white out there.
The nightstands are these cool, whitewashed wood blocks and since they don’t have drawers, I accessorized with white rope baskets. And instead of having traditional bedside lamps, I found these concrete hanging wall lamps, which conveniently plug into a standard outlet. So I didn’t have to do any wiring.
Of course, no bedroom redesign would be complete without a new mattress. Ours was graciously gifted by Emma Mattress. It’s a fantastic memory foam mattress, rated #1 in Europe. We’ve been sleeping on it for 2 months now and it has been great. Cool, comfortable and supportive.
Last but not least, we upgraded our sheets to White Terry Home organic cotton sheets and I can honestly say they are some of the best sheets I’ve ever slept on. Every night is like tucking into a luxury hotel bed! They are made of 100% organic cotton. They’re very high quality and properly sized to fit beautifully over the mattress and pillows with no struggle to put them on.
I’ve linked all of the elements of our bedroom in the slider below to make it easy to shop each piece, if anything caught your eye.
