#CoupleGoals, Part 2

This Valentine’s Day, Justine and I have partnered with Best Buy to share our love for each other and the technology in our lives! We are together all day, everyday, and technology is a huge part of our relationship. Of course, it’s part of our work, but also a part of our personal lives, too.

If you just landed here from Justine’s blog, welcome! If you came directly here, then be sure to head over to Justine’s blog to see Part 1 of what a typical day in our lives looks like. In this post, I’ll take you through an afternoon and evening with us!

1:30 pm: driving in cars with bloggers

When we’re not traveling, Justine and I are based in downtown Toronto. However, even at home, we’re always on the go! Almost everyday we find ourselves driving somewhere; whether it’s to meetings and events, running errands, buying groceries, visiting family or scouting out photo shoot locations. We have a lot of fun driving around together and our trips always include a great soundtrack, played off one of our phones. Our music tastes aren’t always aligned though, which leads to a battle of the Bluetooth.

2:00 pm: work those angles!

At some point in each day, we go outside to shoot our outfits of the day. We often shoot each other, but we also have help from our superstar creative assistant, Vyvian (who took these shots!). We have two, go-to cameras: a Nikon D5300 and an Olympus OM-D E-M5, Mark II. We’ve worked together for a couple years now – you’d think we would have our photo shoots down to a science. However, it is not always so simple. Sometimes there’s snow or a harsh light, or we get chased by security guards. It’s always an adventure.

6:00pm: Family Time

My family lives on the West Coast in Vancouver, so to keep in touch with them, it’s all about video calls. We travel a lot and so do they, but wherever we all are, we’re fortunately able to catch up online. We love to show our family our little dog, Sofia, whenever we can. She’s our pride and joy and LOVES to steal the limelight. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Thankfully, Justine has her Samsung Tablet handy at all times so we can connect with the people we love – even if we aren’t in the same room, or same timezone.

7:00pm: Master Chef

Evenings are often spent out at events and/or catching up with friends. However, our favorite evenings are the nights off when we get to spend time together at home. Justine loves to cook and lucky for me, she’s really good at it! In all honesty, I usually steer clear of the kitchen, but I have been known to appear for taste tests and also to help double check recipe instructions on Justine’s Samsung Tablet. She’s so good at making pasta (and it happens to be one of our favourite things to eat). We really did find true love, didn’t we.

8:00 pm: Movie Night

Justine and I love our movie/TV nights at home, too. On the nights Justine doesn’t cook, we’ll order in and indulge by binge watching our favorite shows or take in a new documentary. I recently hooked a Google Chromecast up to our TV and it’s been so easy and amazing to cast our shows right from my phone onto the TV screen. Way simpler and cleaner than having to hook up a computer to the TV. But that’s technology for you, streamlining everything – even movie night!

11:30pm: Sweet Dreams

The end of our day is usually around midnight, when it’s finally time to tuck ourselves into bed. It’s Sofia’s favorite time of the day, too, because she gets extra cuddles from us! We also tend to update our social media channels one more time and also catch any news that we might have missed during the day. Justine loves to read me excerpts from whatever book she’s reading. Currently it’s all about aligning the chakras (you’ll have to ask her for the exact title). All I know is that I fall asleep after a few sentences…
