Last week, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, Turkey. It was an incredible experience that I’m so excited to share with you over the next few posts on this blog!
Our travel group included Jennifer Weatherhead (ELLE Canada), Nicole Wilson (Dainty Girl TO), Valerie Stachurski (Charming Media), Marissa A (Chic Darling), Sabrina Maddeaux (Toronto Standard), Tammy Burns (Travel+Escape) and our amazing guide, Tay from Turkish Airlines Canada.
Right from the start it was a 5-star trip. We were so fortunate to fly business class to Istanbul, which included a multiple course dinner in the air that rivaled restaurants on land, as well as, a delicious breakfast upon waking up in our lie-flat bed seats. The service was exceptional – it’s no wonder they’ve been awarded as the best airline in Europe three years in a row now!
When we arrived at the Conrad Istanbul (our home for the week), we were graciously greeted with a warm welcome and one of the most incredible views of the city from our rooms. Dinner on the rooftop patio included a full range of tasty Turkish cuisine and the lovely company of our hosts from Hilton’s Istanbul head office.
Beginning our adventures on Day 1 with InS Luxury Travel, we toured the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Following those iconic sights, we were treated to a completely organic lunch at Armaggan’s NAR restaurant, which included a wide range of exclusive all natural and regional Anatolian specialties. Later that afternoon, we tried our hands at bargaining in the Grand Bazaar and dined at the Hilton Istanbul. A full and productive first day!
