WMCFW Day 5: Palm Prints

Day 5 of World MasterCard Fashion Week marked not only the last day of Toronto Fashion Week, but also the last day of shows for the fall 2014 fashion week season. So what better way to close the season than by going out with a bang?! Going all white with a pop of palm leaf print, my look certainly served as an attempt to coax spring into arriving sooner. I love the idea of print on print and even more so layers of the same print. Thanks to the gsus sindustries spring collection, palm leafs on palm leafs was a sartorial reality.

Continuing the nature theme, I accessorized with wooden sunglasses, but went for a pop of neon orange with Vans sneakers and a yellow watch. Oh and not just any watch – a 1:Face Watch. Recently launching in Canada, 1:Face Watch is more than just a watch. Available in 8 different colors; each color associated with a charitable cause and a quantifiable metric of how sales directly have an impact. I chose yellow, which represents education (Pencils of Promise). The sale of five yellow watches can provide 1 year of education for an individual in a developing nation and last year, 1:Face together with Pencils of Promise built 30 schools for children in Guatemala! Pretty cool, right?
