If you’ve ever been to Sarasota, Florida, you’ll know that The Ringling is a must-visit. Formerly the estate of American circus magnate John Ringling and his wife Mable, the property houses and incredible art collection, Ringling Bros. circus history and Ca’ d’Zan, John and Mable’s mansion.
Upon arriving at The Ringling, we went straight to Ca’ d’Zan to check out how the Ringling’s lived. A lap of luxury, one hundred percent. Situated right on the water in Sarasota Bay, the Mediterranean revival style home remains in beautiful condition. Out back on the terrace and dock, it felt almost like what I’d imagine being on Lake Como would feel like.
After a tour of the inside of Ca’ d’Zan, we went to take a look at the museum of art, which featured many interesting and rare works. The courtyard of the museum is also a palatial retreat in itself as well, with lush gardens, fountains and a mini statue of David. I have been fortunate to see the real David in Italy, but this small scale replica was quite novel, standing outdoors amongst the palm trees.
What I Wore: J.Crew shirt, Lifetime Collective shorts, TOMS shoes, Randolph Engineering sunglasses, Caravelle watch, David Yurman bracelet
