Day 2 of New York Fashion Week also happened to be the start of the Winter Olympics in Sochi. As I mentioned yesterday, I am one of Toronto Eaton Centre’s Trend Advisors and my first task was to create an Olympics inspired look. So naturally, I wanted to fuse both NYFW and the Olympics into one of my outfits of the day. And really, NYFW is like the fashion industry’s Olympics, so it’s a pretty perfect match, no?
To jog your memory, I was hotly coveting this sweatshirt from the Zara spring 2014 lookbook and well, I saw it in store and obviously had to grab it! A perfect sportswear inspired piece to center my look around. And showing some Canadian pride, I rocked my Team Canada red mittens around the city, to all of the shows that day.
If you’re in Toronto and ready to get into the Olympic spirit, be sure to visit Toronto Eaton Centre to get yourself outfitted! You too can get your hands into the coveted red mittens (available at The Hudson’s Bay Co.), hit up Zara’s new spring collection and embrace the sports trainer style trend (available at Nike and Sportchek).
Lastly, today couldn’t be a better day for an Olympics-themed post, after the Canadian women’s hockey team just took home the gold a few hours ago! Go Canada Go!
