It’s “back to school” time, which also means that it’s time to add new pieces to our wardrobes and transition from summer into fall/winter. Even though I’m not in school anymore, I still use “back to school” as a great excuse to shop!
Toronto Eaton Centre challenged me with the task of creating a back to school look from the selection in the shopping centre’s stores. With so many options, I narrowed it down to a few top picks to make a great transition season outfit. Starting out at one of my favorite stores, J.Crew, I found this blue 2-tone oxford shirt. The 2-tone shirt has been a big trend in menswear lately and I think it’s a fresh take on a classic. Of course, it wouldn’t be back to school without a new bag. J.Crew had an amazing suede backpack that could be a go-to bag for years to come.
Next, I went to H&M, where I found a pair of off white skinny jeans. No matter the fashion rules you might have learned in the past, white jeans are absolutely OK after Labor Day. Off white is nice in the fall and winter for a more muted, fresh look. While at H&M, I also found a great leather biker jacket. You can never go wrong with a cool leather jacket and it’s a piece that instantly ups any outfit’s cool factor.
Last, but not least, I ventured into Little Burgundy to check out their shoe selection. As you probably know from my outfit posts, I’m a huge fan of sneakers. This tonal greyscale pair of New Balance kicks are a perfect finish to the outfit. plus, the neutral tone is both versatile and chic.
There were plenty of other awesome finds at Toronto Eaton Centre too, so be sure to visit the stores to update your closet for the coming fall season!
Love your picks, especially the oxford shirt! Perfect for back to school indeed!
