Styled: The Best New App for Fashion and Style

Upon spotting a sale sign in the window of one of your favorite stores, you decide to take a browse. Of course, you find a piece you’ve been eyeing all season long. You try it on, but can’t decide whether or not to make the purchase, even with the sale price. Where are your friends when you need them to offer a second opinion?

This is a classic shopping scenario that I’m sure most of you can sympathize with. I certainly can! As much as I appreciate the efficiency of shopping alone, sometimes you need that second opinion and reassurance that you’re making the right purchase. In this day and age, there’s an app for everything and now there’s an app for that! Styled is a new app, created to allow friends to help each other shop. It encourages shopping feedback and even includes a “versus” feature to compare different items side by side, i.e. two different color ways of the same shoe style. Once a photo is shared into Styled’s community, your friends within the app have a choice to either “like” or “pass” on it, in turn helping you decided if you should make the purchase or not. If you specifically want the opinion of a select few friends, you can also send photos privately for a response.

Styled doesn’t stop at shopping either. The app is a great source of style inspiration. I just started using the app over the past week and one of my favorite features is the trending page, because not only does it show you popular fashion and style images across the whole app, but also what’s trending around you geographically (by city or campus). If you see something you like, chances are there is a link to buy it directly from the app as well!
