Floral x2

“Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.”

As Meryl Streep perfectly delivered in The Devil Wears Prada, there is nothing new about florals for spring. Floral prints are a classic spring staple that come around year after year. But don’t get it twisted – even if it’s not a new trend, there’s nothing wrong with reintroducing a good floral print for spring. Better yet, why not two?

For this look, I combined two complementary floral prints, one warm toned and one cool toned. I love the idea of mixing prints, whether it’s via shirt and bag, like I did here, or jacket and shirt, pants and socks etc… To ground the palette, I wore dark green chinos, while the white jacket and sneakers pull it all together to make “the look”.

So what do you think of mixing floral prints? Will you be trying the style this spring?

I admire your use of color, prints and patterns. You take major risks that I don’t think I ever could and I applaud you for it because you pull it off incredibly well. I have never done florals for spring. I want to but I just have not found any pieces that speak to me in terms of my body shape and size. Until then, I’ll continue to hope.

    Great post.

Thanks so much Igee! You should definitely give floral prints a try! Maybe start with an accessory or a pair of funky socks?
