When it comes to photography, I am a huge fan of backlighting. It casts such a cool glow for a rather dreamlike effect, especially around sunset. While walking through Chinatown the other day, Justine and I stopped to snap a few photos of our outfits and I found the lighting at the time to be perfect to give backlighting a go. As much as I love getting dressed and sharing my outfits, the process and trying out different ways of “how” to share them is half the fun!

This look started with the baseball henley-style shirt from Halfwits. I was recently introduced to the Toronto-based menswear brand and immediately attracted to their sport/street aesthetic. I can’t get enough of the “athleisure” trend and as you know, I always have a bit of sports influence in my outfits. To play on the street fashion vibe, I wore my leopard print pony hair chukka sneakers. With mint green pants and a couple wristgame pieces for a summer appeal.

What styles and trends are you guys gravitating towards this summer??

What I’m wearing:
Halfwits baseball shirt
ara pants (similar here)
Axel Arigato Chukka Sneakers
Ray-Ban sunglasses
Thread Etiquette bracelet & watch

I fancy your ability to mix unexpected prints and patterns. The filter you decided to use for the photos resonate with the aura of the style you are showing off. Quite the amount of bloggers seem to be embracing the athleisure trend. Maybe, I’ll see about it for fashion week.

Golden hour definitely sets a great, great mood for photos. And I’m with you – I’m always trying to figure out the best places/times/etc to shoot photos. It’s definitely a learning process ;)
