Target + FEED Collaboration: Summer Style That Gives Back

At an early age, I was taught the importance of giving back; to appreciate the fortune that life has handed me, but not lose sight of the world around myself. In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s so easy to get caught up in a bubble of self. While we should all set goals and follow our dreams, there is so much more to an enriched life than just helping ourselves.

If you’re not a regular philanthropist, charity work may seem overwhelming – where do you even begin? Start small. Help your community then your city, your country and who knows, maybe you’ll even go international! It doesn’t matter how big or small the project you take on. Remember, it’s not about you. Sometimes, a simple helping hand can make a world of a difference.

That being said, I’m excited to share the FEED USA + Target collection, a charitable collaboration between Target and FEED Projects. Benefiting an issue right here in America, the limited-time-only collection will include more than 50 stylish products and benefit Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

FEED founder, Lauren Bush says, “I am passionate about the fight against hunger and am thrilled to partner with Target to create our first ever co-branded lifestyle collection. Through product sales, we hope to provide 10 million meals to Americans in need.”

In addition to the unique designs and Americana aesthetic, one of the coolest things about the collection is that each product will display the number of meals that will be donated to children and families through Feeding America as a result of the purchase. A clear and measurable impact.

The products will be available beginning June 30 at Target stores and on Target.com. In the meantime, I’ve selected some of my favorite pieces in anticipation of the launch.

I’m a big fan of denim on denim, so this men’s look of course caught my eye. The utility shirt is only $25, but provides 20 meals. A great bag is a must for summer, when you don’t have a jacket with pockets to carry your essentials. This messenger bag is $30, providing 24 meals. (*jeans, belt and boots available at Target; not part of FEED USA + Target collection)

On my casual days, there’s nothing more comfy than a hoodie. This hooded henley is light for summer and $25, providing 20 meals. Layered over a T-shirt ($15, providing 12 meals) and paired with a large denim tote ($30, providing 24 meals) and colored pants, you’ve got yourself a fresh summer look.
