Converse Chuck II – Ready for More?

Earlier this week, I made a quick trip down to New York with Converse for the reveal of their Spring 2016 Chuck II Reflective Print Collection. Following the success of the Chuck II debut last year, the brand has released a new collection that features a series of street-ready prints that bounce striking patterns when hit by bursts of light in low-light environment.

To reveal the new Reflective Print Collection, Converse brought a select group of media (bloggers, editors and the like) to The Heath, better known as the restaurant at The McKittrick Hotel (not a real hotel), which is also home to Sleep No More. Eerie and creepy were the popular adjectives being thrown around that night to describe the venue. The dimly lit, smoky atmosphere was a fitting place to debut the new Chuck II color ways. To play on the Sleep No More concept, Converse sent us in small groups through a pitch black labyrinth that slowly began to brighten with green light as we walked through and opened into a room displaying the new Chuck II Reflective Print Collection. Dramatic! The lighting was perfect to show off the reflectivity of the sneakers.

Following the Chuck II presentation, we were invited to check out Sleep No More, the famed interactive theater production. At first, I was pretty nervous, not knowing what to expect or if it was going to be scary! We began by putting on white masks and entering a rickety elevator, at which point the group was split apart, instructed to exit on different floors. Upon exiting, we were thrown right into the show. The production takes place throughout an elaborate 100,000 sq ft set, occupying 4 floors. I don’t want to spoil too much, in case you’re planning on going soon, but I will say that it was an absolutely incredible experience! Not scary at all, but definitely eerie. It was amazing how all of the scenes came together and how everyone’s experience was unique from each other. A bit of a “choose your own plot” type of story.

Anyway, the camo print Chuck II is available now and the stars will be coming out in April. Check out the rest of my outfit photos below and let me know if you decide to go or have been to Sleep No More!
