A Day in My Shoes

A lot of people ask me what a day in the life of a blogger is like. My usual response is that no day is ever the same and that it’s always changing. Which is 100% true. One day, I could have a super busy day and the other, I could be sat at home sending emails, sending instagram messages on computer and even planning out future blog posts. It just depends on what I need to do.

I can tell you one thing for sure; my life would be a whole lot less busy if I had a web hosting server, like hostiserver, that helped me out with my blog! Nevertheless, I enjoy every moment of working for my blog, and my life isn’t unbearably busy at the moment. There are a few things that do occur more often than not so I’ve decided to share those moments with you in this post. So here’s a day in my shoes!

Every day begins with my morning coffee and emails – checking, responding and a lot of flagging for later.

Then it’s time to take Justine’s and my dog, Sofia out for a walk! She hates the snow and winter cold, but these days, she’s been so happy and excited to stroll outside in the spring air and sniff all the fresh, spring blooms. Sofia and I are both glad to leave our parkas at home too.

With the arrival of warmer spring temperatures, I’ve begun to shift my footwear to match, welcoming this new pair of Sperry Striper slip-on shoes from Town Shoes. Lately, I’ve found myself gravitating towards shoes that I can slip-on. Maybe it’s from all of the travel I’ve been doing (slip-on shoes are way easier to deal with during airport security) or perhaps I’m just getting lazy? Ha! Regardless of the reason, I do also find a classic slip-on sneaker to be clean and chic for spring. Known for their boat shoes, Sperry has brought their nautical vibe into sneakers with this slip-on style.

These shoes are easy on and off, perfect for my on-the-go lifestyle. There’s no day that goes by when I don’t have somewhere to be around the city or an errand to run nearby. This includes meetings, fashion previews, banking, grocery shopping etc…

By late afternoon, I’m usually ready for a coffee or tea break. Sometimes it’s taken at home, but I often like to get out and try a local café with friends who are also due for a break in their days.

In the wintertime, outfit photo-shoots usually happen before the afternoon coffee/tea break, but now that the days are longer, I enjoy shooting later in the day. If I can time it right, Golden Hour before sunset is prime.

Then it’s time for more emails, editing the photos that were taken that day and publishing new blog posts and larger social media updates. This usually doesn’t end, continuing after dinner as well.

So there you have it – a typical day in my shoes! Some days are more exciting and busy than others, involving travel, shopping for new clothes and/or going out for dinner with friends. Of course things are always changing, so in a year from now, I may have a different routine of daily activities. Perhaps we should check in then?

Anyway, I’d love to know what a typical day looks like for you! Let me know in the comments and be sure to check out Town Shoes to put your best foot forward this spring!
